3 Essential and Fundamental Features Ignored by Newbie Bloggers
Every newbie blogger makes the same mistakes. They don’t concentrate on their needs when they launch their blog. Some of them might be unaware about blogging; however, some other bloggers who are aware about every single detail about blogging do not wish to concentrate more. Either way, they are just overlooking and disregarding some basic features when they plan to launch their blog, officially.
Running a blog is no simple task and thus, the newbie bloggers should focus and concentrate on their blog by learning new things and implementing them.
There are three basic features that the newbie bloggers are ignoring and overlooking.
Buying a Domain Name
When the newbie bloggers decide to commence a blog, they should first opt to buy a domain name. However, most bloggers stay back with the free blogging platforms such as the WordPress and Blogger. Although, these platforms are great to use, a domain name is absolutely necessary.
The domain name is the URL of the blog. It is necessary to have a domain name if the newbie bloggers plan to host it on their own. The domain name helps in creating a brand for the blog. Bloggers, who decide to stay with the free blogging platforms, also select the free domain name, which those blogging platforms offer.
If a newbie blogger wants to launch a blog for business concerns, he has to transfer it to a self-hosted blog, whereby he will surely need a domain name for it. The main disadvantage of free blog hosting is that, they can be deleted without prior notice.
Newbie bloggers can brand their blog only if the blog has a domain name which goes to prove that the blog is serious about the readers.
When we started our discount coupon blog that features weight watchers and e diets discount codes the first thing we went off was to research and buy a good domain name.
Writing Good Content
When the newbie blogger launches a blog, they seem to be pretty busy with many things and so they negotiate certain things and the time which is needed to make enough content is lost. Nowadays, every new blog that is launched can be easily identified as “new” blog, because of the immature content present in it. This is one of the major imperfect factors, almost every new blog has.
Another important factor is that the newbie blogger might have launched a blog in a very different niche or topic, or they might not be interested to write on that particular niche.
If they do not concentrate on the writing part for a long time, or if they are not experts in that particular niche, they will find it pretty difficult to revise their blog and update it then and there with new content. If this process continues, the blog might even become totally dead.
Choosing the correct niche is the most important thing to be considered. It is better to write around 10-20 articles before they launch the blog, so that their blog is renewed with new content often.
Care should be taken to choose a good niche which is not that difficult to write on. It is OK to write articles on a regular basis, but the blogger should never slow down on the amount of articles or content.
Proper Search Engine Optimization
Many newbie bloggers think that SEO is for the so called expert bloggers, but they are wrong. Those expert bloggers became experts due to their unique work pattern and also because they took enough care of SEO tricks.
If the newbie blogger does not use SEO tricks, his blog will never reach the targeted readers, because no one will know the existence of the blog, even though the blogger writes great content.
The content of the blog should be easy to find, and so SEO is the only way to optimize the blog and make it appear in the search engine listings and results, thereby making it available to the prospective customers.
It is said that 90% chance is there for the new blogs to be not viewed, if they are not in the first page of the search engine rankings. So, every newbie blogger has to learn SEO tricks. It is not a big task to learn and know about.
The newbie blogger can start learning the basics first and then move on to launch the blog, whereby they will start to know about SEO tricks on their own.

Thank you for the information. As a beginner I am currently working on learning SEO. Would you recommend outsourcing the SEO job to someone else if you are a newbie blogger?

Not many bloggers who start out are technically strong. It takes a while to figure out exactly how to setup a website. For those who have done this many times, might not appreciate how challenging it may sound for someone who is completely new to the online world.
I was recently talking to friend who does not know anything about domains/hosting etc. While he was very comfortable setting up a blog on blogger, I doubt if he would invest enough resources to setup his own blog on a separate domain.
While I completely understand how important it is to run a blog on a self-hosted domain, I also feel that there is a place for blogger and wordpress.com in the big scheme of things. They make blogging really easy and that is a good place to start.
