7 Ways To Get Banned From Facebook
Facebook has some well written rules. Then again they have a few unspoken rules that can creep up on you as well. You could be warned about an impending ban or just summarily dismissed. Now this may sound a bit drastic (sic), especially since most of the rules that can get you banned seem to be guarded like Fort Knox. You would think that a company like Facebook would want its users to know how to use it properly. It has so many ways to contact people, that they are close to being redundant and yet you can get banned for using them.
Below you will seven of the most used reason for banning at Facebook:
- Okay the first one is too may friend requests. Now you get only so many per day, per week and per session yet where is the listing that tells you just how many you can make. It is nonexistent or very well hidden to say the least.
- Too much wall posting is another one. Now for all of the people without lives and nothing else to do this is a bad thing. How many is too many has never been outlined. And what about the automatic post that is made when playing games on Facebook? Will they count against you?
- They are very high on looking out for spammers. So if you do not vary your text often enough you could get banned as a scammer or advertiser. So if you were thinking of copy/pasting a standardize message to friends, please reconsider or you might find yourself—banned.
- If you belong to a group, be very careful of the number of messages you send to other members. This will have you looking like a scammer and getting banned.
- Don’t get “poke” happy—Reserve the Facebook poke for very good friends and family. I am not sure why this is considered a bad thing but it is. It is not like you are going to give someone a bruise in the side. ROTF–LOL.
- If you have an event scheduled you cannot invite the same people a number of times. If they don’t RSVP, resend at the risk of being banned.
- And finally please watch those promotional links. Now you can include links to cruddy videos on Youtube, but be careful about promoting your website.
The funny thing about the Facebook police is that they usually end up banning some poor unsuspecting user who hadn’t a clue that banning was even possible. The fact is the scammers are aware of more of the rules than the everyday user will ever be. They already have ways around the methods that attract the attention of the Facebook cops. So have fun, but be careful.

Hey,
I had no idea about this. Facebook is pretty keen on making it more user friendly and spammer unfriendly but banning them as whole takes a whole new idea!
Thanks for the information, maybe all those “pokers” will stay away now!

I think Facebook is doing the right thing here. They’re walking a fine line between keeping their platform attractive to marketers and not alienating their core user base with unwanted advertising and spam. The savvy marketer can get a lot of mileage out of Facebook though, without invoking their wrath or getting banned. You just have to know how.
We hate the spammers so Facebook too
Thanks Alex
the reasons you mentioned will be enough to banned any one who try to be a spammer! and they are alot!
