Web Hosting

In my blogging journey, I learned so many things some of them are really new to me. I used to blog with blogger and all I did is created article and sometimes make over my template. Since I’m using my domain, I need to use a web hosting firm for my blog.

This web hosting matters are really new to me. I never knew about this before, lucky me I’ve a friend that suggest me a web hosting company that have a great costumer service that really help, even for a blogger like me, I don’t have any Idea about web hosting before I have my own domain.

According to Wikipedia, A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own or lease for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. Web hosts can also provide data center space and connectivity to the Internet for servers they do not own to be located in their data center, called collocation.

I really get new experiences with this blog, especially about web hosting, lucky me the firm have a great customer services so as a beginner I have no trouble at all with my new blog.

The web hosting company really help me with the technical aspect as I’m really newbie :) Finding a good and professional web hosting for your blog is a must. Web hosting company should have a great customer service team to help a blogger like :D

One thing that really important and I always remembered is about my budget. If you want to choose your hosting you need to consider about your money and how big your blog. As a start I suggest you to use a standard but still good, hosting package for your blog. It’s related with your bandwidth and your space. You can upgrade your hosting package in the future if your blog is growing :)

  4. I have been webhosting at Host Solutions (webhost-solutions.net )since 2006. I host for as little as $25 a year for small sites. Most blog sites striving for popularity might pay $35 or $50.

The problem with a lot of web hosts is that when they say they offer something like WordPress as a on-click install… it does not necessarily mean their servers are geared to properly support WordPress or any CMS.

Until recently, even GoDaddy did not properly support WordPress, but there is a patch for that now. Network Solutions also had issues and tried to blame WordPress users, but it was their own servers that had not been set up to handle WordPress.

On top of that, you also have to understand that if you purchase a Shared or Reseller account, you are still sharing the server with other people. Where it might not be your fault if your site is down, someone else may have used all their resources. That also is another point – database resources. Most webhosts allow you to do 25 processes, even if your account says unlimited (the unlimited part is merely eyecandy in diskspace and bandwidth.) You could use 10 GB of diskspace and 1Terabyte of bandwidth and probably your site might be down every day as you were not told (except in the web host’s fine print) that you used all your data resources.

If you are not sure about any of these things, regardless if you host elsewhere, you are welcomed to ask me. Before I hosted by myself, I co-owned another webhost from 2004-2006.

    • Thanks Nile, I really need help about this.

  5. I still remember when i wanted to have a domain name. At first, i wanted to learn php, and mysql, but at that time i only had basic package from 1and1. Told my husband, i could not learn with it, so he asked me to look in internet which host is the cheapest. I do some research and found my host now, and it works fine so far! much better than free hosting sites which will make you happy for a few weeks, then will make you cry after that LOL

    • Agree with you Kimi. Bloggers should consider not to use free domain for a long run. We can use it to learn as our first step to the next level :)

  6. Nice one.
In the Top 10 Web Hosting list you’re linking to, I saw JustHost is third.
I cannot state about btheir services for lack of personal experience, but I read good about them.

    Just one quick hint:
If you go on their website and choose the basic plan which goes for something like 4 buck a month and you try to leave the page, they’ll forward you to a special discount page with a 50% off or so.

    Somebody may be interested.
(Just so you know, I have no relationship nor affiliation interest with just host at all.)

  7. I end up into blogging when I tried to search the possibility to make money online.

At time, I can’t connect with information I gathered but because of my wellingness to learn, I really did my best effort.

At first, I learn the basics of html and css then I learn photoshop.

But at that time, I never encounter about blogging and in 2009, I think God is really good to me where he gave this opportunity in front of me.

Finally, I stumble to create my first blog covering about home, health and science. I did some other niches too aiming to earn money from it.

But all of them failed. Because I already have my blogging experience, I tried to jumped up and cross the border line of blogging tips and after I make money from it, I now have the confidence to share how to make money online.
