Interview With Brian From BlogEngage
Guys, this time I bring you Brian from BlogEngage. Brian is really nice and helpful friend and blogger. I’m with him on BlogEngage from the start and BlogEngage is really cool community for Blogger to engage and bring more traffic. Thanks Brian for your brilliant idea to build BlogEngage.
I really enjoy the interview and learn so many things from my dear friend Brian. Guys please enjoy this long interview, prepare a cup of coffee if you like
1. Please introduce yourself. Where are you from, your daily activities, etc.
My Name is Brian and I’m 30 years of age. I live in a small community in Northern Ontario Canada. I work full time in marketing and sales. I’m a graduate of business administration marketing 3 year diploma and enjoy social media marketing. I like to mountain bike and work out to stay in shape. I also enjoy playing video games. Right now I’m playing battlefield bad company 2 and it’s simply amazing.
2. Please tell us a story behind your blog, how you choose the blog name?
I have two blogs in total. My personal blog SEO MKT stands for SEO Marketing. Seeing I enjoy this type of content I started a blog to share my ideas and technique for online marketing and social media.
I also run the Blog Engage community blog. Here I like to share ways members can earn money online, website activities and monthly contests.
3. What is your Blogging Goal?
I don’t know if I really have a blogging goal. I really enjoy meeting new people and blog engage has allowed me to do this so easily. I love the social aspect of it all. If I was to pick a goal it would be to grow and grow. I want blog engage to become the next twitter of blogging and I truly think it’s possible.
4. Did you plan your blog? The articles, how many post a week? Something like that.
I write as often as I can but at minimum I write one article per day Monday to Friday. I’m not very active on my personal blog seeing I have dedicated myself to blogging at the blog engage community blog. As of right now I think Blog Engage is where I need to focus my attention.
5. Do you believe Niche Blog is better? Why?
I guess this depends on the quality of your knowledge in that specific area and how unique your content can be. Niches like SEO, making money online or how to blog are over saturated but it’s your intelligence and unique content that will make it work.
6. Do you make money from your blog? Few fellow bloggers blogging for money and they get frustrated because they can’t make any money. Any advice?
I have managed to make a very good amount of money from my blogging career. I generate revenue using wordpress theme affiliates, Google Adsense and in text advertisers. I also sell 125 ads for a decent price as well. Overall I make a very decent amount of money. If anyone was to put the energy and time I do into their website they would also make decent money. It’s all about time and traffic.
7. Do you have an article on Google SERPs, its natural or with SEO? If it’s with SEO, what is the important factor that we must consider when created an article?
Over the last 45 days I have been working on a SEO and Keyword Challenge. This is where I help our members rank high for targeted keyword in Google. So far it’s been great. I think we have some key elements in SEO and I would say it is as follows.
- Research and Analysis
- Article Creation
- Building the Article
- Publishing the Article
- Social Bookmarking
- Guest Blogging
- Keep Going
- Evaluation
8. Do you agree blogging is dead?
Blogging is just starting. I believe that soon enough everyone in the world will want to have their own blog. This is something I strongly believe in and we will all see blogging is just starting.
9. What do you think about SEO and Social Media, can they work together to help our blog? Any tips?
Social Media Marketing and SEO is the only way a blog can succeed. They come hand in hand and without them no one will be able to find your website on the internet. I wrote an article that might be perfect for this. Check it out its named Social Networking Tips and included many suggestions when it comes to social media marketing.
10.How do you promote your blog? Are you created a promotion plan?
I promote my blogs using web master forums, blog commenting and guest posting. I don’t pay for advertising seeing I don’t want to spend the money. Right now I do all the marketing and advertising myself. I have however purchased a few 125 ad spots and blog roll links.
11. What is your main traffic source?
Right now my main traffic source is direct traffic. Then its social networks and search engines. After that the traffic starts coming in from others blogs and webmaster forums.
12. Any blogging tips for beginner? The most important things beginners should consider about before start their blogging journey.
Pick one user name and one image. Start branding yourself right away and proof read your content. Remember when blogging success comes with reliability. If your readers trust you everything else will fall into place.
13. Any tips for making money online? With or with out blog?
Good content and traffic will start generating you money. You have to find the new deals or new affiliates first. You cannot promote something that has been all over the internet. You need new and fresh idea that no one knows about.
14. It’s always hard for beginner to making many from their blog, interesting question is always how to get advertiser for your blog? Or how to make people click your affiliate links and give you some money. Any special preparation for a blog to success in making money?
This goes back to trust and credibility. Your readers will not click your links and sign up if they don’t trust what your writing. Develop a relationship with your readers and gain their trust. Only then will your success as an affiliate marketer come true.
15. Any SEO Tips for my beginners Friend?
- Research and Analysis
- Article Creation
- Building the Article
- Publishing the Article
- Social Bookmarking
- Guest Blogging
- Keep Going
- Evaluation
16. Is it important for blogger being active in a community? You build a blogger community, Blogengage, what is your goal and what do you really want from all the members.
I want all our members to be active on blog engage because in the end if we are all active there together we need not waste time else elsewhere. We must unite as bloggers and come together to help one another.
17. Any favorite blogger? How come?
I follow way to many bloggers to have a favorite. I enjoy reading most of their content. I cannot always like everything but I do respect all my blogging friends equally.
18. Any suggestion a blogger for interview?
I would suggest Hesham from famous bloggers. He’s a great guy and deserves the spotlight. He works hard and respects many people.
19. Any hobby or something not related with blog you want to share? Favorite Band, Movie or something? And I heard you are getting married soon, how about that?
I’m not a movie guy I enjoy time out doors and other activities. I do like the pc, web development and social networking. I enjoy guitar and have played for about 13 years now.
Thanks Brian for your time and sharing your tips. Guys, you can contact Brian if you have something to ask or just say hello @ Twitter

Great post, it’s nice to see that not everyone has a blogging goal, I was panicking lol.
I am going to take Brian’s advice and start branding myself from the get go.

Your Welcome Bro
Brian’s experience is definitely commendable as he too works very hard and I have seen BlogEngage community growing despite being relatively new in the sphere. In my view, the best advice here is #12. There are many people who still make this mistake non-the-less wanting to make money online. You need credibility and trust and that is impossible if you have many “brands” and names such as “milka10-774U”, lol. Great interview.

Yes, thanks. Brian is brilliant as always
Great interview. I is always nice to learn more about the person behind a community.
RE: #5 – being a niche blog has its challenges. You have a very specific audience and your advertising, posts, etc. have to reflect that. You are limited in the subjects you can cover. However, in some ways it is easier for me to write guest posts because I can write about things I can’t address on my site. I think it is a nice trade off.
Yes Melinda, niche blog sometimes make frustrated if we don’t have enough resource but its great for Search Engine and Advertiser
It seems there is always something I can learn from Brian. And now, I learn how the right way to make money from blog.
