Linking The Articles
Search Engine Optimization or SEO is always interesting topic to talk about. Now I want to share my opinion about linking our articles. This is a part of SEO games. One of the important SEO for a blog is link building, there two kinds of links on blog, inbound links and outbound links. Linking our articles is part of the first one, inbound links.
We know that not all of us love SEO, because from SEO we can get more traffic from the search engines, this is the ultimate goal for SEO games and with SEO you can put your article on better place on Search Engines Result Pages especially on main search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing.
Linking Articles Benefits.
Here some benefits from linking our article each other:
- Inbound Links. Linking your articles each other with links help you with your link building, you build inbound links on your blog. Google love this kind of links.
- Authority. Linking your articles each other will give you more authority in front of your readers because you have so many article on the topic.
- Refresh The Old Articles. This strategy will help your old article that may be no one like to read it
or its hard to find by your readers. Linking your articles will help your old articles go to the surface once again. - Page Views. Page view is important for us, we don’t want our visitors spend their time just in few second and go to somewhere else. We want to hold our visitors to stay on our blog as long as we can. If we linking our articles we will give our visitors guidance to discover our blog.
Starting Linking The Articles
To start linking your articles, you need to create a plan for your articles. Planning what you want to write in the future for a topic and try to create few similar articles for topic that you choose.

Internal linking is very good regarding to SEO — and it is more easy if compare to external link since internal linking is fully under our control.

Yes, like Dana said: internal linking is fully under our control so it won’t hurt our blog.
which plugin do u use for that? I am using seo smart links plugin for that. It is useful as your internal pages also ranks high in search engine.

You are right inbound links are very important for a high page rank, if you have wordpress your job will be more easy because allot of plugins are developed just for this purpose.

I have been using the similar posts plugin to do some internal linking – I can never quite be bothered to find a relevant post to link to – is it better to do it manually than use a plugin to achieve something similar?

This is great advice, and one that I have recently started paying more attention to. Of course I have many posts that I need to edit to like them to other relevant posts. I am also curious if there are any “similar posts” plugins create internal links. I like to be able to have similar posts display automatically, but I don’t think that these are true links that have SEO value. Maybe you know if this is true?

Yes, I agree with you, similar post just using you category and tag Tina so I doubt about the SEO Value.
Inbound links are important, just wondering though, if you link to an external website that has a poor pagerank, does google hate that?

By the way, I forgot to mention the “related posts” plugin.
It scans your post and adds a list of other posts on similar subjects at the bottom, each line a link with the title of the post as anchor txt
