SEO For Local Search
This is another Story from my blogging journey, hope you like it guys. Few months s go, a friend come to see me and we have a nice talk. He run a small business, he selling his services. He asked me to help his business through a blog, or other online marketing campaign.
Local Search A New Challenge.
This is a challenge for me, can I help him to promote his business through a blog? I take the challenge and I set up a blog, with blogger. I prepared few articles about how to maintain a printer, how to fix a printer, etc. Sorry, my friend business is about printer service and maintenance.
Local Search From Local People.
Its a local business and really small targeted audience. People who looking for help for their problem with printers. I need to optimizing local search for him.
His user is local people who search the internet with keyword or keyword phrase related to printer service and maintenance. So I optimizing the meta tag description, meta tag keyword, etc. All the meta tag using local language.
Let’s say the blog is ready to go 
The next step is I submitted the blog to Google, Yahoo! Bing, and submit to local free ads sites. This submission is really important to get our blog index by the search engine.
Not more than a week he told me that someone called him and need his service, he got customer from his new blog! Wow, that’s great and I’m happy for him and my another little research is working
Local Search For Local Business.
What I have from this blog? Money? No, I give the service for free. But I get more than just money, I get a new experiences in choosing the right keyword and setting up a blog for local search. That’s great!
Conclusion.
- Keyword Research. I did a little keyword research for local search.
- Placing Keyword. As usual we playing with keyword or keyword phrases all the time. I use keyword on the blog url, meta tag description, title post, first paragraph and on the contents.
- Using Local Language for the keyword and keyword phrases.
- Local Free Advertising Websites for promotion.

Very interesting. I always forget about local search results, but since I live so close to the Silicon Valley I’m sure that means I’m missing out. Thanks for the suggestions, I’m going to take a serious look at what I can do locally.

I think the one of the best SEO for local search is use a local domain name extension. Like .com.in, .in, .com.au, .au.
Then you are very sure that your site or blog local search is within your local area or in your country.

I actually started getting business from some contractors and law firms for local leads. I and anyone else with SEO chops can get targeted search for local mom and pop[s and big firms at a more competitive price than say a directory listing for attorneys.

I found that using the address in the meta (vcard) and footer seems to help quite well with local search. However, remember that Google has really picked up the pace to recognize where your business is located by submitting it to the local business center.

It seems that there’s a lot of potential in local search. This can prove to be a good way to get some quality targeted traffic. Of course submitting the blog to Bing and Google search engines is a must if you want people to find you. Thanks for sharing the story. It was an interesting read and I found few nice ideas to use.
