Are You A Victim of Blogging Vice?

Are You A Victim of Blogging Vice?

So, you have been working hard for months, trying to get your blog off the ground but despite all your hard works and your honest approach, you are finding it overwhelmingly difficult to make you blog big in the blogsphere. You may wonder why it is so because you have been posting great things regularly, checking all the statics carefully, analyzing latest trends and hiring some of the best bloggers of your country but still number of visitors is painfully low and so is the visitors’ loyalty. However, this is not anything uncommon and the way forward is also impossible. But you need to find out what are wrong with your blog and its marketing approach. To make your task easy, here we are going to share some common blogging vices that can cripple your blog from attaining success. Take a look.

Great Posts But No Point: I have personally gone through some posts which are good to read but they are not conclusive enough. I mean the posts show great skills on English language, professional approach and loads of other thing but the problem is that all of them are not going anywhere. They are just the repetition of the same concept and there is no attempt to engage the readers. You need to make a point that you are going to add some conclusive and concrete points to your posts otherwise, your readers will less likely to find your blog good enough to come back for more. Now, let make it easier for you. Your posts should be clear in approach and it should have a convincing conclusion. However, you are free to add some dose of controversy in it to make readers comments onto it but make sure you are not stretching the fact too far otherwise the post will lose credibility.

Be Consistent: I mean you should be consistent in approach. I have seen some bloggers changing their stance with every new post. This is not going to help you build a solid relation with your readers. Your posts should reflect your personality and do not forget to add personal elements in your blog posts. This will encourage readers post their valuable comments onto it which will keep your blog up and running. Make it a point that you are posting frequently otherwise you may end up losing a large chunk of visitors who would otherwise have landed on your blog a day or two later in the hope of getting some latest update. So, do not let them down. Just make sure that you are posting at least twice or thrice a week.

Do Not Forget To Proof-Read: I know proof-reading your own article is boring to the death, but unless you manage someone, who would not mind going through your posts, you have to do it yourself and with complete devotion. Bloggers are great at making great typos so, you cannot make a post go live unless you have checked it thoroughly. People do not like to read a post that contains errors imaginable. Moreover, the post will lose credibility if it contains too many silly mistakes. The fix is quite simple. Just take out some time from your busy schedule and there you go.

Use Images: Though blogging has got nothing to do with images and formatting, your blog needs to have a proper look and feel. Have a nice design for your blog and make a point that you are not using the same worn out free WordPress theme. Moreover, every single post should have an image attached on them. Bulleted points, sub headings, proper images, bold texts etc can make your blog posts stand out from the rest.

Have Some Social Love: You blog may contain the most valuable information on wide range of topic but what the use of it, if no one can find it. You need to make sure that you are promoting heavily your blog on different social media websites. Try to get some digs, facebook likes, retweets and the number of visitors will shoot through the roof for sure. So, what are you waiting for? Just give it a try.

  1. It’s the whole posting regularly that always gets me. I go through phases where I write tons or hardly at all. I’ve learned I have to treat it like one of the blogs I get paid to write. Create a pattern, stick with it and build an editorial calendar of blog topics to keep you going.

    • Completely agree with you, thanks for sharing your golden words Jon.

  2. I love your point about being consistent. I’ve seen so many blogs where the focus varies from the week to week – it’s almost as if the blogger is picking random topics in the hopes he or she hits on something that will generate a lot of pageviews.

It’s always more effective when the blogger has a definite point of view and a his or her own unique voice that comes through in each post, regardless of the topic of the post. Readers are as interested in the personalities behind the blogs as they are in the blogs themselves.

    • I always love to said that using your own voice about one thing will make your blog worth to read ;)
Your blog is you and your opinions or your experiences.

  3. You make a great set of points about blog traffic. Of all the things, consistency and perseverance are the key. Even Steve Pavlina had to go through the same growth pangs. It took him many months before he started getting decent traffic. For lesser mortals, it is bound to take much more time.
